Emory Proton Therapy Center

Project Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Located in the heart of Atlanta, Emory Proton Therapy Center is Georgia’s only proton therapy facility. Since opening in 2018, the center has treated over 3,000 cancer patients.

The center is a facility that facilitates healing. Beginning at the front door, visitors are invited to relax in a hotel-like space with natural sunlight and city views. The lobby features an open concept waiting area, café, outdoor patio, restrooms, and a children’s play area, all designed to make patients feel comfortable.

All five treatment rooms utilize Varian pencil beam scanning technology. The center includes a state-of-the-art imaging suite for optimal accuracy, featuring MRI and CT technology.

Work previously completed by John Jessen as Principal Architect with Architect-of-Record VOA Associates (now Stantec).
