BLOCK 2 CORNER PERSPECTIVE CONCEPT WITH PARK

UCSF Proton Therapy Center

Project Location: San Francisco, California
Project Size: 50,000 SF | 3 gantries

As Owner’s Rep & Proton Subject Matter Expert, John Jessen has been working with UCSF since 2017 to develop a new proton therapy center in San Francisco, CA.

Early studies examined several sites on or near UCSF’s Mission Bay campus. Later, additional sites were analyzed off campus and at Mount Zion. Currently, the project is centered on an off-campus site 1 mile south of UCSF Mission Bay in San Francisco’s Dogpatch district.

The project, currently in design, consists of a 50,000 SF proton center at the base of an 8-story tower. The proton vaults are being carefully positioned to allow access for equipment installation and potential future extraction, without disruption to the tower above.

Work in progress by John Jessen in collaboration with Legion Healthcare Partners.
