University of Miami Dwoskin Proton Therapy Center, Miami, Florida

The Dwoskin Proton Therapy Center, located in downtown Miami’s health district right behind UHealth Tower, is equipped with Varian’s ProBeam Compact proton therapy system. Dwoskin is one of only two NCI-designated cancer centers in Florida to offer proton therapy.

The project expanded the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center adding a single proton gantry and repurposing existing clinical space. The constrained site required a “stacked” solution placing the new MEP systems adjacent to the proton vault. 120 auger cast piles support the vault’s deep foundation.
